I have since returned (after my last review) to this wonderful hotel for afternoon tea with my Mum and sister and a tour of the observatory. Staff are amazing and food was delicious. Booked again for this week! I attend this wonderful hotel every month for the Forth Valley Woman in Business event and they staff are lovely, accommodation and the food it great. If I have to hold a conference or business event this venue would be on my list.
We were sent here after a midnight evacuation from the hotel next door. They were kind, sympathetic and helpful in accommodating us. Shame we were then evacuated from this hotel as well less than an hour later! Situation caused by street wide electrical fault so neither hotel to blame. The staff coped admirably well with an array of alcohol fuelled and unreasonably unhappy people. There was confusion over evacuation procedure and am sure revision and training will follow. The staff worked hard to find alternative accommodation for everyone and arrange taxis. Well done to all for coping well under lots of pressure.
Spa day with lunch was fantastic. Spent the whole day getting pampered, relaxing and using the facilities. Staff were great - looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.
Clean, serviced room. Pleasant staff. Difficult to control heating in room. Dreadful smell of cinnamon pot pouri everywhere. No skimmed milk. The hotel is NOT a stones throw from the station unless you're David (and Goliath). Was a 6 taxi ride. The pool was unsupervised and a lot of teenagers diving off edge. Very little entertainment for New Year's eve in hotel. One piper, one haggis. Constant pop music in breakfast room . Breakfast mushrooms cooked in oil and butter, not grilled. No fridge in room. Very strange tilted toilet seat.
Really nice reception area a with lovely open fire, nice to relax in the sofas around there. Pool is nice and was not too busy when we were there, has a steam, jacuzzi band sauna too. Sauna could of been hotter and was on an auto control. Dinner looked pricey so never tried it but a great Italian just across the street called mummamia. Rooms were fine, good size and big bed. Would definitely stay again.
